Separation Anxiety Dogs

How often do people come home from work with only the thought of relaxation, but come to find out their night of relaxation was not to be. The dog did it again. “He chewed on the couch”, “he ate my favorite slipper,” “he peed on my evening gown”, and the all time favorite, “the doggie ate my homework.” Are all just some of the things we complain about our dogs.

Rachel Smith, a dog owner her whole life, says “All of my dogs were terrors as puppies, but none of my dogs have been as bad as my Nicki,” a 2 year old Yorkie Schnauzer mix, “She constantly is getting into things, whether its the toilet paper or used tampons. Especially when I am away.” Most People can relate to Smith. A lot of dogs are obsessed with things that are specifically related to you. Such as your favorite stuff animal, or little things like tampons. Dogs descended from wolves who were pack animals. They were never left alone. This is a theory as to the reason dogs have such a hard time to being left behind.

Riley Johnson, a dog trainer, gives some pointers on how to help your dog over come separation anxiety. “you can leave the TV on when you leave, having voices in the background for your dog can help put them at ease. Don't let them have the entire house to room around, especially when they are puppies, limit them to a room or even their crate. Also realize that these animals are pack animals, if you are able to then get another dog to help the other one realize that its not being left.”

In the article titled “Separation Anxiety Dogs” it talks about how keeping the dog calm when you are about to leave is a major key in keeping things from being destroyed.

With training and help from you, coming home from work can once again be time for relaxation with mans best friend.

The Attack at Fort Hood

In the article "Fort Hood suspect said methodical goodbyes" it talks about how the man Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan went on a killing rampage in an army base killing 13 and seriously wounding several. The question is why? This man seemed to live a normal life and had a family who loved him yet he now will be known as a mass murderer. In the article it talks about how he called neighbors saying goodbye, and gave his things to friends. All of which are commin things a soldier about to be deployed would do yet this soldier decided to be deployed a different way. Its amazing how somone mistreated can blow up in your face, its just like all of the other stories out there, the bully bugs the misfit and pays for it later. When will we all learn to get along and to not judge people by the stupid little things that in all reality only matter because society makes it that way. We are far from making a perfect world and probably never will make it perfect but if we learn from the mistakes that have been happening all along then maybe we can make things a little better than what they are. Hasan did a horrible thing, killing 13 innocent people is a crime that he will take to the grave, but maybe we can learn from this. Maybe we can help that misfit who is being bullied so we can get rid of one more potential mass murderer.

Tutition

In the article "Brigham Young University Plans 2010 Tuition Hike" It talks about how they are planning a 3% tuition increase. Tuition Hikes are out ragious. Yes right now is the time to be getting your education because you wont make it any were without a college degree, but adding to the already high prices of tuition is wrong. The term poor college student will now have to change to REALLY POOR COLLEGE STUDENT. This should not be the case. Luckly there are plenty of scolarships out there that are able to help us out along with Goverment funding. In all reality college tuition just keeps going up and up. Pretty soon we will have to give an arm and a leg to go to school. In the article it talks about how it is going up because of the cost of education going up because of the economy. I believe that because of the economy we should be making education more obtainable.

In the Article "SonoCine Mckay-Dee Detecting breast cancers earlier with new machine" they talk about a machine that is able to detect breast cancer earlier. Its Incredible the things that we are able to do with new technology. Last summer my family had a scare, they had found a lumb on one of my mothers breast. It was a very scary ordeal that I am glad to say turned out to not be cancer. Cancer is a scary thing. I am very happy that we are continue to move forward and try to catch cancer before it catches us. In the article it talks about how you can find cancer when it is merely an inch long. That gives us hope that one day if I am one of the unlucky people who does get diagnosed with breast cancer than maybe we will have caught it soon enough that I don't have to worry about it. I also think that it is really cool that this technology didn't start in japan or europe, but in our own back yard or ogden.

CELL PHONE DRIVERS MENACES TO THE ROAD?

While driving a silver Truck along I-15 Saturday morning, a man on a cell phone tried to merge into another lane. What the man failed to realizes is that Stephanie Seybodlt, a 19 year old girl in a white Honda civic, was driving along side him.

“It was the scariest thing of my life.” Seyboldt responds. “I almost thought I was done for. Had it not been for a woman driving behind me who honked I may not have realized what he was doing.” It seems that yes we may have had cell phones for years now, but the concept of driving while talking or texting on a cell phone is still very new.

We have created new laws against using cells phones while driving, but has it helped? Kellie Anjewierden a junior at the Salt Lake Community College stated “I use to text and drive all the time, but ever since I got in an accident about a year ago while texting I have decided to quit that habit.” Recent laws have made it so we can not text while driving. Anjewierden goes on to say “I am grateful that my accident wasn't that bad so I was able to learn my lesson the easy way. I would hate for someone to loose their life in order to learn the lesson that I learned.”

The wife of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has been found recently driving while talking on the phone. In California Schwarzenegger signed a law against such actions back in July of 2008. Obviously some people don't take some laws seriously. Utah has the strictest law in the nation if you were to kill or injure someone while texting while driving you can face up to 15 years in prison. So think about it. Are you willing to put your life on the line for a phone call?

"Elizabeth Smart could testify before leaving for LDS mission"

In the Artical
"Elizabeth Smart could testify before leaving for LDS mission" Elizabeth Smart makes an amazing come back!! She was kidnapped the summer before my 9th grade year of jr. high. I remember that the night that she was kidnapped was the night that I had finally moved from my room upstairs to the big room down stairs far away from my parents. That next morning when I had found out that she had been kidnapped I was freaked out and (will never admit this to my brother) could be down stairs unless my older brother was some were in the general visinity. I was very freaked out. Then the day they found her was incredible! I am not going to lie I still remember it vividly, I had just gotten home from San Diego the day before and was dreading having to go to school that day. We had an assembaly which I was very gratful for. That after noon as I was dropped off at my home by my carpool I turned on the tv and watched my favorite cartoon at the time, Arthur. Half way through the show I decided to change the channel, it wasnt normal for me to do that, I loved that show, but for some reason I just did it. I started to watch the news. (come on I was in 9th grade who watches the news) well all of a sudden there it was! ELIZABETH SMART WAS FOUND was the headline!! I could not believe my eyes!! Talk about a Miracle!! Which in this artical they talk about how much of a miracle it really was. I am just so happy that she is able to be free of that burden. I cant even imagine the pain that she went through in the article it talks about how in order for her to keep her sanity when Brian Mitchell made her keep a diary she would write in French at the bottom that she hated him and that she loved her parents. Talk about an awesome mission call to be called to the same country whose langauage helped her keep her sanity! I admire Smart in all that she had to endure and I want to be one of many to say good luck and may God be with you!

Cutting College Costs

In the Artical on ksl.com "Titled Cutting college costs: Part 1" it talks about ways making college more affordable. The dream scholarship would be a full ride, but not everyone can get a full ride scholarship to college. In this artical it talks about how we make college costs low enough that it is as good as getting a full ride. The secret is Multipule scholarships!! there the secret is out!!! now the trick is to actually find scholarships that you can get. College is expensive and it sucks having to pay for it, and the problem is is it keeps getting more and more unaffordable. Right now school is crucial for you to get a job, but it is also some of the most difficult time periods to actually pay for school. Another way to save money on tuition would be finacial aid. unfortunatly not everyone can qualify for it, but when you can get it i would assume it is awesome. unfortunatly i can not get it but oh well i guess i will just have to move on with my life and find another way to get my tuition payed.
